Announcement: Match Referees Regional Induction Courses

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is pleased to announce the organization of Match Referees Regional Induction Courses, aimed at covering all Regional Cricket Associations. These courses are designed to:

  • Fulfill operational needs of domestic cricket;
  • Identify and develop emerging talent in match refereeing;
  • Creating Regional panels of match referees by introducing new, qualified individuals preferably former cricketers.

This initiative serves as the starting point for individuals interested in pursuing a professional career as a Match Referee.

Eligibility of the participants

 

Age Bracket

30 to 45 years at the time of application

Eligibility

  • Should be part of PCB Panel of Umpires for atleast two years and has done BA

Or

  • Should have played 50 First Class Matches and has done Intermediate

Or

  • International Player

Or

  • 16 Years of Education for Non-First-Class Cricket

 

Language Proficiency

Fluency in written English

Skills & Competency

  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to write detailed match reports and handle disciplinary matters.
  • Competence in using digital tools for submitting reports and video reviews.

Computer Knowledge

Proficient in:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Internet usage, email correspondence, and basic IT tools

Physical Fitness

Must be physically fit to perform the duties of a match referee, including standing or sitting for extended periods and traveling if required

 Course Information

 

  • Shortlisted candidates will be notified to submit a registration fee of Rs. 10,000/- via Pay Order/Demand Draft in favor of Pakistan Cricket Board.
  • Food and refreshments will be provided during the course. All other expenses (travel, lodging, etc.) will be borne by the participant.

Selection Process

  1. Written Test: Conducted in person after course completion
  2. Interview/Viva: Assessment of laws knowledge, communication, and interpersonal skills
